Another vulnerability in WhatsApp
Its essence is that an attacker during a call could install third-party software on the interlocutor’s phone.
And this is regardless of whether the interlocutor answered the call or not. Moreover, information about the call was not saved in the call log.
The hacking technology was developed by the Israeli company “NSO Group”. Its employees said that they do not use their own developments, but sell them to companies. Including state ones.
The vulnerability was found out in WhatsApp at the beginning of May, and an update was released yesterday with a fix.
It is difficult to determine the number of victims whose devices were hacked, but we recommend that you protect yourself and update the application.
