According to the forecast of the founder of DreamWorks Jeffrey Katzenberg, the use of artificial intelligence and neural networks will reduce the cost of producing animated products by 90%. Cartoons will be cheaper and of higher quality, but many people will lose their income.
Currently, producing a high-quality cartoon takes about five years and employs approximately five hundred people. According to Katzenberg, in the future both the period and the number of personnel will be reduced tenfold.
Katzenberg believes that changes in the animation industry will occur in the next three years. On the one hand, artificial intelligence will make it possible to create very quickly and cheaply what was previously inaccessible, but on the other hand, it will be destructive for the careers of animators, screenwriters and people in other creative professions.
