Microsoft Edge has been evolving by leaps and bounds over the past few years. In the recent past, the young Windows browser has been reborn as a universal Chromium edition. It now has a lot of unique and unusual features over most.
- Vertical tabs.
This is a killer feature that should, in theory, be in every browser. To activate it, click the menu in the upper left corner of the browser.
The vertical tab list is great for users who work with a lot of sites at once. It allows you to see the titles of open sites, no matter how many tabs are open.
- Web page snapshots.
Edge has a built-in screenshot tool that allows you to save an entire web page or a portion of it as an image. Include captions or draw something on the screenshot if you want. 3.
- the Edge sidebar
Useful feature that lets you open mobile versions of the services you want in the sidebar of your browser. It stays visible even when you minimize or close the main Edge window. You can pin it to an edge of the screen, float it, or move it to an arbitrary place on your desktop.
- Reading Mode
Press the “F9” key while reading any article in Edge and the text will open in a nice and convenient mode. There will be no ads or any extraneous elements. In this mode, you can adjust the text size and font, background color and other settings, and make the browser read the article aloud.
- Efficiency Mode
This feature of Edge is designed to fix the main drawback of all Chromium-based browsers – high demand on the computer’s RAM. When the efficiency mode is activated, the browser automatically unload tabs that have not been accessed by the user for a certain period of time.
- Collections
A built-in tool that allows you to save websites, pictures, links, quotes and texts found on the Internet to Edge. It’s kind of like Notes. The collections you create can be dragged and dropped and organized however you like.
Saved data is synchronized between your computers and mobile devices. And if you save an unread article to a collection, when you select it on another device, it will open in the same place where you left off last time.
- Password Monitoring
Microsoft Edge is able to protect your data from threats. The browser checks if your accounts are on the list of compromised accounts and warns you when you should change your password for a particular site.
To keep your data safe, open Edge settings and click “Settings” → “Profiles” → “Passwords” → “Other settings” and activate the “Show alerts when passwords are detected among leaked data on the Internet” option.
- Math problem solver
A built-in tool that recognizes math problems and shows you their solutions.
