How automatically delete unused files from my Downloads folder?

To automatically clear your Downloads folder of files that have been stored there for a very long time, you can use the System Tool “Memory Control”. To do this:

  1. Open “Settings” (by pressing “Win+I”), then go to “System” → “Device Memory” and activate the “Memory Control” function.
  2. Tap “Configure Memory Control and run it” to set the cleaning frequency. By default, Windows deletes files when the disk space is low.
  3. Set the periodicity of the cleanup run under “Memory Control”.
  4. In the Temporary files section, you can set how often you want to delete files from the Recycle Bin and Downloads folder. Files stored in these files for more than 1 day, 14, 30, or 60 days after downloading can be deleted.
