System Restore is a feature available on Windows 11 that lets you create a copy of the system state as a “restore point.” When the feature is enabled, it automatically creates a restore point when it detects system changes, such as installing a new update or driver. However, you can always create a copy of the working state of your computer manually.

In the event that something happens, you can use System Restore to recover Windows 11 to a good working state by applying one of the available restore points. You can think about this feature as an option to undo system changes. Also, when using this feature, your files won’t be affected.

In this guide, you will learn the steps to create and restore a restore point to fix problems on Windows 11.

Fix Windows 11 problem with restore point

System Restore offers different ways to recover Windows 11. If you have access to the desktop, you can use a restore point to recover the system to a previous working state. If you don’t have access to the desktop, you can use the recovery tool in Safe Mode or Advanced Startup settings.

You can use these steps to start your computer in Safe Mode and then continue with the steps below. If you can’t start the device, use these instructions to access the Advanced startup environment. Then go to  Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > System Restore, and continue with step No. 4 below.

To recover Windows 11 with a restore point, use these steps:

  1. Open Start.
