  • To enable battery saver on Windows 11, open Settings> Power & battery, click “Battery saver,” and click “Turn on now.”
  • Also, you can use the “Turn battery saver on automatically at” option and select the battery level before the feature turns on automatically.

On Windows 11, “battery saver” is a feature that, as the name implies, helps laptops to conserve energy to prolong battery life as much as possible.

When battery saver mode is on, the device will reduce power consumption by disabling some features, such as sync for emails, OneDrive, and other features, and certain apps won’t work in the background. The screen brightness will decrease, and the energy will be managed differently in favor of battery life instead of performance.

Windows 11, by default, enables battery saver mode automatically when the laptop or tablet reaches 20 percent of battery life. The feature will disable automatically if you plug the device into a power outlet. However, it’s also possible to enable the battery-saver mode manually, and you can even change the battery level before the feature turns on automatically.

This guide will teach you the steps to use the battery-saver feature on Windows 11.

  • Enable battery saver on Windows 11
  • Change automatic battery saver on Windows 11

Enable battery saver on Windows 11

To turn on the battery saver feature immediately on Windows 11, use these steps:

  1. Open Settings on Windows 11.

  2. Click on System.

  3. Click the Power & battery tab.

  4. Under the “Battery” section, click the Battery saver setting.

  5. Click the “Turn on now” button for the Battery saver setting.

  6. (Optional) Turn on the “Lower screen brightness when using the battery saver” toggle switch.

Once you complete the steps, the feature will immediately turn on to start conserving battery life.

Change automatic battery saver on Windows 11

To configure battery saver mode to turn on automatically when the battery falls to a specific level, use these steps:

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Click on System.

  3. Click the Power & battery tab.

  4. Under the “Battery” section, click the Battery saver setting.

  5. Use the “Turn battery saver on automatically at” option and select the battery level before the feature turns on automatically.

  6. (Optional) Turn on the “Lower screen brightness when using the battery saver” toggle switch.

After you complete the steps, the battery saver mode on Windows 11 will enable when the battery falls to the specified level.
