Learn about trackers in your applications
Trackers that collect information about your behavior are not only on websites, but also in installed applications on your smartphone. And if sites give you any kind of warning about tracking, it’s not so easy to find out about trackers in applications.
TrackerControl is an Android application that allows users to find out what specific tracking technologies are present in the code of your applications. The service allows you to identify the companies behind the tracking and reveal their goals, such as analytics or advertising.
The developers state that the application will always be free and open source, as it primarily a research project. The development is supported by the Oxford Department of Computer Science. The source code of the project is available on GitHub.
In Google Play light version of the application is available. The full version is available at F-Droid (open source app directory) and at Website of the project.
