Twitter did a bug private tweets open
The bug was relevant for users of Android devices. The failure was that hidden tweets became available to all users, as well as to search robots.
The problem was reproduced under the following conditions:
1 . The user is using the official Twitter app for Android.
2. The function “Restrict access to tweets” is activated.
3. The user changed the email address associated with the account between November 3, 2014 and January 14, 2019.
After that, the function to protect tweets crashed, and users could overlook. This problem was not detected in iOS, desktop and web versions of the application.
The Twitter administration stated, that on January 14 the bug was fixed. However, users are advised to check the privacy settings of their accounts.
