We don’t always get to be together with close friends to watch a video of a favorite blogger or a new episode of a show. FlickCall is a free Chrome extension that lets you watch YouTube videos together with your friends.
The plugin works very simply: after installation, when you launch any video from compatible sources, the “FlickCall” logo appears in the corner for 10 seconds. By clicking on it, you can start a video sharing session.
To invite a friend, you need to click “Copy Invite Link” and send them the link. All friends see the same broadcast interface as you do. It is located in the sidebar on the right, which can be minimized. Each participant’s video is displayed at the top, and you can talk and send text messages to the chat below.
The video content itself is not streamed, so it retains its original quality. However, each of the participants must have their own accounts in order to view it.
