Over a third of TSA officers call out at 3 major U.S. airports in single day

Over a third of Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers called out sick at three major U.S. airports in a single day, citing deteriorating morale and burnout. This staffing shortage directly undermines aviation security operations and increases risk exposure for travelers at airports such as Los Angeles International (LAX), Chicago O'Hare (ORD), and Miami International (MIA).

"The morale is getting worse by the day because no one knows when this is gonna end," said Cameron Cochems, a lead TSA officer in Boise, Idaho.
