- To download the Windows 11 24H2 ISO file, open the âWindows Insider Preview Downloadsâ page, sign in, choose the latest preview in the Dev Channel, click âConfirm,â choose the language, click âConfirm,â and click â64-bit Download.â
- Alternatively, open the âUUP Dumpâ website, choose the latest Windows 11 preview, select the language, click âNext,â choose the editions to include in the ISO file for version 24H2, click âNext,â click âDownload and covert to ISO,â extract the files, and run the âuup_download_windows.cmdâ file.
Windows 11 24H2 wonât launch for existing devices until at one point in September 2024, but you can download the latest preview ISO file for this version now using the âWindows Insider Preview Downloadsâ page. Alternatively, you can use the âUUP Dumpâ tool to perform a clean install or an in-place upgrade on a spare computer or virtual machine.
The Windows 11 2024 Update is still under development, so not all the changes will be included. Also, the features and experiences may not work as expected, and you may encounter problems, even data loss (in some rare cases). I always recommend creating a computer backup before proceeding with the installation.
The difference between the âWindows Insider Preview Downloadsâ page and the âUUP Dumpâ tool is that the âInsiderâ page allows you to download the official files when Microsoft believes a build is stable enough to be available through an ISO format. The âUUP Dumpâ is a collection of tools and scripts to download the latest builds from the official Microsoft servers and create an unofficial ISO file to install the operating system.
In this guide, I will teach you how to download the ISO file for any publicly available preview of Windows 11 (version 24H2) and create a USB bootable media with the Rufus tool.
- Download the Windows 11 24H2 ISO file using Insider program
- Download the Windows 11 24H2 ISO file using UUP Dump
- Create a Windows 11 bootable USB using Rufus
Important: The recommended and supported method is downloading the ISO file from Microsoft, but either method will download the image from the Microsoft servers. Use these instructions at your own risk. You have been warned.
