  • To install Microsoft Lists as an app on Windows 11, open Microsoft Lists with Edge, open the main menu, choose “Install Microsoft Lists,” and click “Install.”
  • To install the task management tool as an app, open Microsoft Lists with Chrome, open the main menu, select the “Save and share” menu, choose “Create shortcut,” check “Open as window,” and click “Create.”

Although the Microsoft Lists tool doesn’t have a native desktop app for Windows 11 (or 10), it’s still possible to install the tool as a Progressive Web App (PWA) through Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome, and in this guide, you will learn how.

Microsoft has made its task management tool, Microsoft Lists, a free service that anyone can access with a Microsoft account. However, since the tool is only available on the web, iOS, and Android, on Windows 11 (or 10), you will need to use the web app installation option.

Progressive web app refers to the technology that allows websites to offer an app-like experience to users, such as the ability to work offline, notifications, automatic updates, easy installation and uninstallation, and various other features. However, it is up to the developer to implement these functionalities.

In this guide, you will learn how to install (and uninstall) the Microsoft Lists progressive web application on Windows.

  • Install Microsoft Lists app on Windows 11 from Edge
  • Install Microsoft Lists app on Windows 11 from Chrome

  2. Open Microsoft Lists (web).

  3. Click the Settings and more (three-dotted) button in the top-right corner.

  4. Select the Apps submenu.

  5. Click the Install Microsoft Lists option.

  6. Click the Install button.

Once you complete the steps, the progressive web app (PWA) version of Microsoft Lists will install on your computer, and it will be available from the Start menu.
