Although Windows is getting faster and more compact, and the hardware is more efficient, your computer’s performance can slow down due to many other factors.
To visually speed up Windows visually, you can turn off unnecessary visual effects and give your system the best possible performance. Then the poor performance won’t be as noticeable to the eye.
A nice semi-transparent Start can reduce system performance. Disabling transparency will free up some resources that can be allocated to higher priority tasks.
To do this, go to Start → Settings → Personalization → Colors and set the Transparency Effects switch to Off.
Animation effects, smooth scrolling and various shadows have an even bigger impact on system performance. You can disable all these effects with a single click. To do this, open “Control Panel” (you can find it through the search engine).
Then select “System” → “Advanced System Settings” → go to the “Advanced” tab. Under “Performance”, tap “Preferences” and select the item “Ensure the best performance”.
