- To get the Windows 11 Moment 5 update (KB5034848), open Settings> Windows Update> Windows Insider Program, enroll the PC in the Release Preview Channel, and then in the “Windows Update” settings, turn on the “Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available” toggle switch and click on “Check for updates.”
On Windows 11, the “Moment 5” update or the “February 2024 Update” is coming soon, but you can install it now on your computer running version 23H2 or 22H2, and in this guide, I’ll show you how.
The Moment 5 update is set to start officially rolling out on February 27, 2024, but you can download it a little early by installing the update KB5034848 on your computer.
If you opt to enroll your computer in the Release Preview Channel, you also have to turn on the option to get updates as soon as possible, which will trigger the February Windows Configuration Update (KB5035349) first, and then the update KB5034848 will install on your computer. You won’t see the update KB5035349 downloading, but it’ll download automatically to enable the new features and improvements.
In case you don’t want to enroll in the Windows Insider Program, Microsoft is expected to make the feature drop update available as an optional update on February 27.
In this guide, I’ll outline the steps to install the final “Moment” update on Windows 11.
- Install Windows 11 Moment 5 update (preview)
- Install Windows 11 Moment 5 update (final)
Warning: It’s important to note that preview builds are updates still under development, and they can contain bugs and cause unwanted problems. It’s never a good idea to rush the installation of a new update. It’s always recommended to create a full backup of your computer before proceeding. You have been warned.
