Anxiety scored owner of another Russian mobile operating system, Aurora. He suspects that the Red Soft code may contain “bookmarks” from American developers.
Rostelecom sent a complaint to the expert council under the Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation about the inclusion of the Red OS M mobile OS in the register of domestic software. Among other things, the experts invited to the council pointed out the operating system’s dependence on Google’s AOSP: the use of this toolkit implies compliance with Google’s license agreement. And this, in turn, contradicts the very idea of sovereign software.
Since Google’s terms of use include the integration of its services with all related analytical tools, developers fear that Red OS M may turn out to be a spying tool.
