By default in Windows, clicking the Explorer icon in the taskbar opens “Quick Access”, which is a page containing several folders and recently used files.
If necessary, you can change the settings to open the default “This Computer” page for faster access to your profile folders, drives, and network locations.
To do this:
- open “Explorer” and click the “View” tab.
- In the settings ribbon, click “Options.”
- In the “Folder Options” window that opens, on the “General” tab, select “This computer” from the “Open explorer for” drop-down list.
- 4. Apply the changes and click OK.
As a result of these steps, the This Computer folder will open when you launch explorer.
