Mint Browser by Xiaomi monitors users even in incognito mode
In a recent report Forbes says that Xiaomi’s Mint Browser collects more user data than necessary, but the company denies any wrongdoing.
Most of the information collected is similar to that reported most other websites and mobile applications.
This is data such as device name and OS version, but the browser also sent search engine settings and all search history to Xiaomi servers. Even queries running in incognito mode.
Yesterday, the developers of Mint Browser released an update, but according to the researchers, the app still sends the same analytics data.
If you’re looking for a mobile web browser that respects your privacy, you’re probably better off using Firefox or DuckDuckGo Browser.
